| Tradition and Culture of India |
 |
India has
a very long and very rich tradition.India's culture has been enriched
by successive waves of migration which were absorbed into the Indian
way of life. Art forms that date from prehistoric times still survive
while newer forms have evolved assimilating later influences to
provide a range and richness that has few parallels.
India with her
diversity of races, ethnic types, religions, linguistic groups and
varied social structures is the repository of an amazing wealth
of traditions. Stretching back in an unbroken sweep over 5000 years. |

Place of Workship
India
is a vast country, peopled with diverse and ancient civilizations,
and its religious geography is highly complex. To grasp the
complexity of the situation, it is important to consider two
aspects of Indian life: its characteristic of being an ethnic
and cultural mosaic, and the ancient rural foundations of
many of its religious and cultural patterns.
India is also famous for its places of workship- Temples,
Mosque , Churches etc not only give sense of spiruality in
India, but also is good example of architecture in India |

Religion
India
has large variety of religion. Indian religions have deep historical
roots that are recollected by contemporary Indians. The ancient
culture of South Asia, going back at least 4,500 years, has
come down to India primarily in the form of religious texts.
The artistic heritage, as well as intellectual and philosophical
contributions, has always owed much to religious thought and
symbolism.
The local
interaction between great traditions and local forms of worship
and belief, based on village, caste, tribal, and linguistic
differences, creates a range of ritual forms and mythology
that varies widely throughout the country. Within this range
of differences, Indian religions have demonstrated for many
centuries a considerable degree of tolerance for alternate
visions of the divine and of salvation. |
